Starting today in the U.S. we basically have our last long holiday weekend marking the end of the summer. Most people take these last 3-4 days until Monday night to enjoy every last minute of summer they can squeeze in.
However, these plans aren’t always the healthiest and often include some extra eating and drinking. Of course, those calories also aren’t usually coming from the healthiest of foods either.
To combat this swing in calories and potential weight gain it’s essential that you fit in a few exercise sessions. These workouts don’t have to be long, but they should be intense enough to boost your metabolism over the next few hours. This will help you to better metabolize sugars and hopefully you end up storing less fat.
Even if all you can get in is 10 sets of jumping jacks that will work fine for this weekend. To do this workout just complete 10 1-minute rounds of fast jumping jacks while resting 1-minute in between sets. This will amount to an intense 20-minute workout you can fit in every morning before the festivities start.
Is it the world’s best workout? No, but it’s a whole lot better than doing an arm workout with a pair of light dumbbells… or worse, doing nothing.
It’s also good to keep in mind that every workout you do doesn’t have to be your best workout ever. If you always have that mindset it may prevent you from trying to fit in a quick 10 or 20-minute quick workout like the one I just described above.
Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
