After writing a post yesterday on an "Introduction to Yoga," I saw this great study on how regular yoga practice can actually reduce stress and many of the illnesses associated with higher levels of inflammation in your body.
Here’s what the Ohio State University researchers reported in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine:
"Regularly practicing yoga exercises may lower a number of compounds in the blood and reduce the level of inflammation that normally rises because of both normal aging and stress."
Besides the yoga benefits you get from breathing, "slowing down," and working on your flexibility, you may be able to add increased longevity to the list if future studies can prove additional health attributes associated with continued practice.
